The stats for March are in! Calgary is still experiencing below average sales, however, there are a couple things that could happen in the next few months that might change consumer sentiment. One is the provincial election. A changing of the guard at the provincial level will at least give some people optimism moving forward. Second, the Federal government may build the pipeline they bought with a decision coming this June. These 2 events may be enought to get the ball rolling in the right direction. Currently sales for the month are only down 3% year over year while inventory levels have only slightly increased (3%). We are not seeing the high inventory levels of 2018 which has helped keep prices from dropping too much. If you are buying, we may have seen the bottom of this last recession. There is plenty of selection and sellers are motivated. We have 2 more months of spring market before we hit the dog days of summer. What's your plan?
